A fairly quiet November, with not much intersting at the cinema. Just three films…
Dolemite Is My Name
#FF19 Dolemite Is my Name is the true story of a man desperate to make it in showbiz, through whatever route he can take.

It's surprisingly heartwarming as he never gives up and tries to take his friends with him. Well performed, fun, light.
A very solid two hours.
In The Tall Grass
#FF19 In The Tall Grass is a decent enough horror idea, that works well enough. The film does a good job of making us as lost in the situation as the characters.

It does have a McGuffin that it indulges a bit too much, and the night scenes are a little hard to say, but it's fine
21 Bridges
#FF19 21 Bridges is a fine, somewhat flimsy action film. The lead performances are solid, the camera work is grounded, and the pace works very well. The score, however, is incredibly overbearing.

You'll see the twists coming, so just relax and let it wash over you. Okay.
The November Winner
Nothing particularly deserving this month, but I’ll go with Dolemite Is My Name for being a solid, surprising, funny biopic.
