I tried to update this site today, but to no avail. It seems that my hosts are down again. I don’t mind the odd bit of downtime, I really don’t, but this is the second time in as many weeks. I need to find a new host.

Anyway, today’s updates will be made offline and then uploaded at a later date. Such are the benefits of having a robust, database-free CMS offline: synchronising is cheap and easy (most modern FTP clients can do this for you), server downtime doesn’t limit productivity, and you have somewhere to rant.

It should also be mentioned that the local copy of my CMS, Finetto, is more advanced than the online copy since it has all the latest updates I’m making.

So, since the site is in it’s infancy, I need to link to the weblogging community in a general way for now. I joined a webring (see the navigation bar to the right): Scottish Blogs. Seems like I can’t keep away from connecting the wired world to the real world. This isn’t a real update, more of a notification.

So, for my first update, I thought it would be nice to connect myself to the rest of the world. If you look at the navigation bar, you’ll see a small button that says GeoURL. If you click it, you’ll get a list of blogs that have registered with GeoURL and are geographically close to me. There’s something odd about making meta-physical connections to physical places. But click on it anyway.

Welcome to my new site. No, it’s not the site that I’ve been building for months now; it’s the one that I’ve spent the last day or so building. Don’t expect too much from it. It’s primary function is to enable me to update people on various projects, including my new site. It’s more of a blog-style mini-site. As it’s early days, it will have a bug or two.
